Try a dynamic QR code, without an account
The code below is real and belongs to this site. Scan it with your phone: it opens this page. Then type another address underneath, press the button, and scan the same code again. The picture did not change. The destination did. That is exactly what an account lets you do to a code that is already printed.

Reading the code's state…
What just happened
- The code holds a short link on this site, not your address. The phone opens the short link.
- Our server sends the phone on to whatever the destination is at that moment. Nothing loads in between: no advertisement, no interstitial.
- When you change the destination, you change the server's answer. The picture, on paper or on a screen, stays the same.
Why it resets
The demo code belongs to everyone, so anyone can change where it goes, including after you. So that it cannot be used as an open redirect, the destination returns to this page by itself after 10 minutes, each visitor may change it only a few times per window, and an address has to be http or https, to a real domain, and not to this site. A code from an account is yours: it does not reset, nobody else changes it, and you can print it.
Questions
Can I print the demo code?
No. It is shared and it resets. A code from an account is just as real, except that it is yours, it does not reset, and nobody else can change where it points.
Is the address I type stored?
Yes, for a few minutes, as the demo code's destination, and anyone who scans in that window sees it. It is not tied to you: no IP address is stored, only a fingerprint the address cannot be read back from, so that changes can be counted.
Why did my page not open?
Either the window ran out and the code returned to this page, or somebody else changed the destination in the meantime. Type it again and scan.
Does it cost anything?
No. Not the demo, and not the first codes in an account. No card.
No card. Codes from an account do not reset and never expire.
